Busch Gardens Williamsburg is adding another new coaster to its lineup with ‘The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge’ – North America‘s longest inverted family coaster.

Opening in 2025, the roller coaster is described as Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s most immersive family attraction to date. Riders will travel across more than 2,500 feet of track at top speeds of 40 miles per hour.

Located in the Octoberfest area of the theme park and manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, the Wolf’s Revenge will be the park’s eleventh coaster.

The experience is set in a bustling Bavarian village preparing for the ‘Festival of the Silent Bells’. However, the celebration “quickly turns into chaos as glowing red eyes and bone-chilling howls signal the return of a terrifying creature”, Busch Gardens said.

“While trekking across the German countryside, riders become the beast on this all-new exhilarating adventure,” it added.

The ride is named after an old favourite at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the original Big Bad Wolf coaster. The park chose the new ride‘s name “to build upon a beloved attraction in the park’s history with a new twist”.

“This attraction is unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” said Kevin Lembke, Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s park president.

“We’ve created an experience that combines storytelling with family-friendly thrills. Guests will feel completely immersed in the story of the Bavarian village, as the sound of screams and the echo of a howling wolf creates chaos in the familiar town.”

Part of United Parks & Resorts, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a European-themed destination offering more than 50 rides and attractions, including coasters like Loch Ness Monster: The Legend Lives On and DarKoaster.

Elsewhere, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is opening the new ‘Wild Oasis’ realm in 2025. This will feature new attractions, animal exhibits and interactive elements.
