ECA2, a leading creator of high-quality multimedia shows, worked on several notable projects during 2024, including the Thea Award-winning Kiss of the Sea show in Vietnam and the annual New Year’s Eve spectacular on Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa.
The team is also anticipating a busy 2025, with productions including Under the Midnight Rainbow for Expo 2025 Osaka, which will be the biggest show ever created for this type of event.
Kiss of the Sea
Kiss of the Sea is a permanent show on Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island. Directed, designed, and produced by ECA2 in collaboration with Sun Group, it is the country’s first and only large-scale multimedia technology show, blending advanced technology, live performance, and storytelling.
This nighttime show in Sunset Town has gained international recognition, winning the 2025 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Live Event (Outdoor Show) category. It is the first show from Vietnam to receive this honour. The performance takes place on the world’s largest theatre on the sea, featuring a vast 1,000-square-meter seawater screen that showcases stunning visuals.
The show uses 300+ high-tech devices for dazzling effects, such as lights, lasers, and dynamic video projections, creating an immersive 360-degree experience. Live performers enhance the intimate, theatre-like atmosphere. Merging architectural design with entertainment exemplifies “architainment,” ensuring emotional engagement.
Kiss of the Sea features a love story between a young Phu Quoc man and a mysterious girl from another galaxy. It combines romance, mystery, and cosmic wonder, enhanced by visuals, music, and live performances. The show also creatively blends Vietnamese and French cultures, merging artistic traditions with modern storytelling. Running nightly at 9:30 p.m. (except Tuesdays), the production concludes with a fireworks show.

In January 2025, it was also announced that Kiss of the Sea won first place at the blooloop Innovation Awards in the Spectacular category.
Burj Khalifa NYE show
The Burj Khalifa NYE 2025 live event, once again produced by ECA2, marked the beginning of an extraordinary large-scale production series in Downtown Dubai. The first show, held on New Year’s Eve 2024, featured an immersive blend of lights, lasers, and integrated displays, creating a memorable experience for locals and visitors alike. This nightly spectacle continues until 31 March 2025, featuring innovative designs and performances.
The series includes multiple performances, with standout shows such as Ball Synch, Shooting Stars, and Windows. These creative productions enhance the grandeur of the Burj Khalifa with spectacular visual effects, showcasing ECA2’s expertise in crafting unique and captivating events. Each evening, audiences can enjoy the show at 8:30, 9:15, and 10:15 PM, transforming the world’s tallest building into a canvas of light and artistry.

Under the Midnight Rainbow
Under the Midnight Rainbow is a monumental semi-permanent nighttime show created by ECA2 in collaboration with Japanese artists Naoki Tanaka and Yoko Kanno for the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. Sponsored by Daikin and Suntory, this 27-minute multimedia spectacle invites audiences to explore humanity’s deep connection with nature, focusing on the vital elements of water and air.
The show aims to inspire action toward a sustainable future and is expected to captivate nearly 28 million Expo visitors.

Set on Yumeshima Island’s Water Plaza, the show takes place in the Expo’s largest performance area, spanning 8,800 square metres. The custom-built stage features a 20-metre-high Cascade Screen as its focal point, displaying vibrant projections. With 300 fountains equipped with lights, lasers, and synchronised nozzles, alongside fire effects, air and water jets, and a dynamic musical score, the production creates a fully immersive experience that blends advanced technology with powerful storytelling.
The narrative centres on humanity’s role in preserving nature’s harmony. Through artistic visuals, intricate fountain choreography, and a moving score, the story emphasises the significance of water and air in sustaining life, delivering an emotional message of unity, hope, and environmental responsibility.
The production took 18 months to develop and reflects Japan’s cultural reverence for nature and innovation. Its grand scale, cutting-edge design, and compelling themes promise to redefine live entertainment, leaving a lasting impression on its global audience. An official website will extend the experience online, reinforcing its core message of sustainability.
