Walt Disney World has revealed more about its new villains show, opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2025.
Disney said in a blog post that work is well underway on Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, which will feature cutting-edge stage design, thrilling effects, and live musical numbers.
“If you asked them, our villains would probably try to convince you that they’ve been treated pretty unfairly over the years. In this show, the magic mirror has summoned us to hear them out,” Disney said.

“Never ones to let a dramatic performance pass them by, fiendish foes Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent will break through the glass and take the stage to prove once and for all why they are the most misunderstood.”
The live production will feature a “delightfully wicked finale filled with dozens of the most infamous evildoers”.
Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After will debut in the park’s Sunset Showcase theatre, which will be transformed into “the mysterious, reflective realm of the magic mirror”, Disney previously said.
To make way for the villains show, Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed its Cars-themed production, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, in October.
Villainous additions to Disney parks
Of course, Disney World is adding another villains experience, a new land at Magic Kingdom. This will offer two new attractions, as well as retail and dining experiences.
“Since the beginning, our Disney villains have given us endless possibilities to tell new stories,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney’s parks and experiences division, at D23 last year.
“In this new land, you’ll see storytelling on a grand scale that only Disney can deliver.”
