Area15 in Las Vegas has opened an immersive cinema and dining experience called Fork n’ Film where dishes from films are served as they appear on screen.
Fork n’ Film recreates dishes from classic films and serves them at the exact moment they appear on screen. It also uses state-of-the-art visuals and surround sound to provide a fully immersive atmosphere, engaging guests’ senses beyond sight and sound.
Per a press release, nostalgia is on the menu at Area15 as films such as Mean Girls, Holes, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and Alice in Wonderland will take guests back to their childhoods.
Other films showing at Area15 are Ratatouille, Lady and the Tramp, The Princess and the Frog, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Monsters, Inc.
Fork n’ Film was founded by Nick Houston and Francesca Duncan. The company collaborates with a team of chefs, venues and partners to create these multi-sensory gastronomic experiences.
“Our parents always told us, don’t play with your food, but we want you to play with your food while you’re immersed in iconic films,” said Houston.
Located on the second floor of Area15 next to Wink World, Fork n’ Film keeps its dishes a surprise, but pairs each film with a new multi-course menu, plus cocktails and mocktails. All meals can be modified for vegans, vegetarians and guests with dietary restrictions.
Growing trend for immersive dining
One of blooloop’s top attractions trends for this year is immersive dining. Europa-Park’s Eatrenalin, for example, is a media-based multi-sensory restaurant where guests are seated on ride vehicles.
360, An Extraordinary Experience is a sensory dining attraction by Princess Cruises that stimulates all five senses using panoramic visual media displayed on curved LED walls, scents, a bespoke soundtrack, and interactive tabletops for tactile engagement.
