Adventures by Disney is expanding its family vacation options in Europe with a new river cruise itinerary through southern France along the Rhône river from 2026.
Guests will sail from Lyon through the Rhône river valley and Provence, experiencing the history, culture, art and culinary offerings of the region, all enhanced with signature Disney storytelling and a touch of magic, a press release says.
The eight-day, seven-night itinerary aboard the AmaKristina, operated by AmaWaterways, will take guests to five destinations – Lyon, Tournon, Viviers, Avignon and Arles. Each sailing will be led by Disney-trained adventure guides.

Highlights of Disney’s new small ship expedition include:
Active sightseeing like exploring towns and villages by bike, kayaking beneath the Roman Pont du Gard aqueduct, and seeing the Gorges du Doux aboard a steam-powered train.
Culinary experiences celebrating the region’s renowned gastronomy, including Lyonnaise food and wine tours, with Lyon home to the chef who inspired Auguste Gusteau in Disney and Pixar film Ratatouille.
Art-focused activities like a walking tour of Roussillon’s Ochre Trail followed by a painting class, and a silk-weaving demonstration in Lyon.
Immersive historical tours featuring Disney storytelling, including trips to the medieval towns of Tournon and Viviers and visits to ancient Roman ruins in Lyon and Nîmes.
Investing in Disney Signature Experiences
Adventures by Disney is a subsidiary of Disney Signature Experiences, which also oversees Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and Storyliving by Disney.
Disney Signature Experiences, itself a segment of Disney Experiences, has a new president, with former Shanghai Disney Resort president Joe Schott taking over from Thomas Mazloum.
Disney Experiences is in the midst of an ambitious expansion plan for its cruise line business and theme parks, with Disney spending $60 billion on the segment.
As part of this, Disney Cruise Line will double the size of its current fleet by 2031.
