Walt Disney World has announced an opening date for its reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Magic Kingdom.
Debuting on 17 July in Frontierland’s Grizzly Hall, the Country Bears audio-animatronic stage show replaces the original Country Bear Jamboree.
The bears are returning with some new “Nashville-style” country music hits, Disney said in a blog post. They will also have updated looks, including new costumes for Bunny, Bubbles and Beulah.
In the reimagined experience, Bunny, Bubbles and Beulah – and the rest of the Country Bears – will pay tribute to the opry-style shows of Nashville.
Additionally, there will be Easter eggs, a familiar tune, and new Disney songs in different genres of country music, such as bluegrass, country pop, Americana and rockabilly.
Disney, which has also shared a first look at Wendell and Big Al in their new clothes, worked with country and folk music artists to create the new show.
During a press event at Disney World yesterday (10 June), country singer Emily Ann Roberts performed a snippet from Zootopia‘s ‘Try Everything’, which she will sing as Trixie for the Country Bear Musical Jamboree.
Magic Kingdom investments
Allison Russell will sing as Teddi Barra, while Chris Thile takes on the role of Wendall. They performed “A Whole New World” during the press event.
Earlier this year, Disney confirmed plans for “probably the largest expansion ever” at Magic Kingdom. This is one part of Disney’s planned $60 billion investment in its parks and experiences over the next decade.
On 15 June, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District will vote on a development proposal that would authorise spending $17bn over ten to 20 years on Walt Disney World.
