Universal Orlando is introducing a new collection of interactive wands for more magical experiences in the resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands.
Available from 1 March, the next generation of wands feature new light and haptic effects, and a personalised experience in the Universal Orlando app.
The enhanced wands come in four designs and include a spell map that outlines locations where they can be used.
Guests can personalise their wands in the app and select their Hogwarts House and Patronus, with these elements integrated into the effects of their spell-casting.
Additionally, there will be new locations to cast spells in Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and Place Cachée in Epic Universe‘s Wizarding World.
Personalised experiences in Harry Potter lands
In Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley there will be five new locations, bringing the total number of sites to 30. New experiences include:
- The Duelling Club Tent – In Hogsmeade, guests will be able to cast a spell to bring an abandoned duelling dummy to life.
- The Owl Post – In Hogsmeade, pixies will fly across the window and hide behind packages as guests cast a spell to try and freeze them.
- Knockturn Alley Staircase – In Diagon Alley, guests must defend themselves by conjuring their Patronus as a dementor emerges.
- Ariadne’s Spinners – In Diagon Alley, guests will need to use their wands to repel spiders of all sizes.
- Knockturn Alley Sky – In Diagon Alley, guests will get to cast a spell into the night sky to control a storm.
At Epic Universe’s Ministry of Magic land, there will be 14 wand locations, where visitors can discover the Philosopher’s Stone, interact with magical creatures like a Niffler or Demiguise, and more.
The next-gen wands will be available to buy at Ollivanders Wand Shop in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique in Place Cachée, and other locations across Universal Orlando.
Epic Universe opens at Universal Orlando on 22 May.
