Six Flags Over Georgia launches new innovative coaster

Six Flags Over Georgia has opened its new “revolutionary” coaster, Georgia Gold Rusher. The new ride is the park’s 12th coaster.

Via a press release, Georgia Gold Rusher is a unique attraction with free-spinning seating to deliver a different experience with each ride.

Guests board one of two gondolas, facing outward, and are launched back and forth on a 590-foot, U-shaped track at speeds of 60 mph and heights up to 144 feet.

The new coaster also features water elements, three airtime moments on gravity stall ramps, and four airtime sensations on the ride’s central hill.

The Ultra Surf coaster by Intamin, a creator of record-breaking amusement rides, is inspired by Georgia’s historic 19th century gold rush.

“As the park’s 12th coaster and the world’s first free-spinning gondola coaster, this attraction represents our team’s commitment to delivering unmatched thrills, immersive entertainment and lifelong memories,” said Greg Fuller, general manager at Six Flags Over Georgia.

New Intamin Ultra Surf attraction

“With a new roller coaster and a multitude of enhancements throughout the park, this season will build on our park legacy, bringing new energy and excitement for our loyal fans and future park guests.”

As above, Six Flags Over Georgia will be making various theming enhancements and other upgrades across the park this season.

Six Flags Over Georgia is home to more than 40 rides and attractions, including the seven-acre Hurricane Harbor water park.

After merging with fellow amusement park operator Cedar Fair last year, Six Flags revealed plans to invest more than $1 billion over the next two years across its network of 42 theme parks.
