Mad Systems Inc., the award-winning audiovisual and interactive system designer and integrator, has been awarded two more US patents for its Alice and Lory technologies, namely U.S. Patent No. 12,273,589 and U.S. Patent No. 12,271,418.
Combined with the firm’s previous patents, these cover technologies related to delivering personalised media content based on the selection or generation of media, including using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Mad Systems has developed a strong intellectual property portfolio encompassing granted US patents, pending US patent applications, registered US trademarks, pending or allowed US trademarks, and both pending and issued foreign patents across different countries.
New US patent applications are also routinely developed and filed as the company makes new technical advances. It has patents issued or patent applications pending in Australia, China, Europe, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and more.
Investing in personalised interactive experiences
Of particular note concerning Mad System’s intellectual property portfolio is the patent and trademark coverage for Alice, Lory, CheshireCat, and TeaParty technologies.
Alice is an AI-driven docent system delivering hyper-personalised media for every guest. Drawing from a curated Body Of Knowledge, Alice creates unique and tailored visitor experiences through recognition, personal smart devices, or an RFID keepsake.
Lory is a proprietary tour guide system that delivers personalised content to a guest’s smart device. Lory is capable of ListenAssist for Bluetooth-equipped hearing aids as well as delivering multi-lingual content, supporting languages for audio, captions, and sign language, removing the barrier of language bias in exhibit spaces.

Last year, Mad Systems was brought in as the technology partner for a new exhibition at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California, called Fantasy: Realms of Imagination, created in partnership with the British Library. The firm used creative projection to enhance the spaces, creating immersive environments and enchanting portals to imagined fantasy lands, including Alice in Wonderland.
