Warrior Group, a creator of world-class adventure experiences, has shared details of its project to design, develop and install a Low Ropes Course and Bouldering Wall at the Rubu’ Qarn Life Skills Center in Sharjah.
The venue works to promote critical life skills among young people through experiential learning. With this project, the Center can provide an interactive, energetic space where young people can engage in adventure-based learning to build resilience, trust, and self-awareness.
Experiential education is an evidence-backed approach which supports young people in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Participating in structured, physical play can develop cognitive and social skills and foster a growth mindset that embraces challenges as possibilities.
The new Low Ropes Course and Bouldering Wall support Rubu’ Qarn’s mission to cultivate well-rounded individuals by adding active learning to their skill-building initiatives. In addition, the project highlights the importance of education beyond the classroom, and encourages participants to develop collaboration, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
Troy Gillham, CEO, Warrior Group, says: “Adventure-based learning goes beyond physical activity—it’s about equipping young minds with the confidence, resilience, and teamwork skills they need to thrive. Through structured yet playful challenges, young people develop essential life skills that shape their future.
“At Warrior Group, we’re proud to contribute to Rubu’ Qarn’s mission, helping young people grow through structured challenges that prepare them for life.”
Designed for development
Spanning 66 metres, the new Low Ropes Course includes 22 interactive elements and has been developed to challenge participants’ teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Parallel lanes facilitate group activities, with guided challenges which build young people’s confidence, resilience and communication.
Additionally, the Bouldering Wall is designed to hone focus, while developing decision-making skills and physical coordination. At 7 metres wide and 4 metres high, the wall includes 130 climbing holds with various difficulty levels that participants can enjoy in a safe and supervised environment.
Both facilities were constructed with durable materials, including galvanized steel frames, powder-coated finishes, and vandal-resistant ropes. They were developed to optimise engagement and prioritise safety, with a fall-safe design which minimises risk so that all activities are accessible and developmentally appropriate for young learners.
Serving as project developer, Warrior Group played a vital role in delivering key outputs:
- The design and manufacture of a facility which supports the Rubu’ Qarn Life Skills Center’s educational aims.
- To guarantee safe experiences by implementing and complying with international safety standards EN 15567 and EN 12572.
- Empowering instructors to deliver meaningful learning experiences through structured operator training.
Growth of experiential learning
The Low Ropes Course and Bouldering Wall bring together physical activity with developmental learning objectives to create valuable tools for teaching perseverance, adaptation, and collaboration—key skills for education, work, and life.
As experiential learning becomes increasingly prevalent in learning programmes, organisations such as Rubu’ Qarn Life Skills Center play an important role in shaping the next generation of leaders, problem-solvers, and innovators.
With this project, Warrior Group reaffirms its dedication to supporting development in young people through adventure education by offering safe, interesting, and transformative learning experiences that reach beyond the classroom.
Dr. Hanan Al Mahmoud, Rubu’ Qarn BoT Member, says: “The project has created a unique and powerful platform for experiential learning. Through these adventure activities, our participants are developing essential life skills like teamwork, confidence, and resilience in ways that traditional workshops cannot always provide.
“We are grateful for partnering with Warrior Group in this project, from design to delivery, their team’s commitment, attention to details and investment in making this project a success has made all the difference.”
