Gateway Ticketing Systems, a leading provider of admission control systems, has revealed its new platform, Galaxy 8. The launch represents a significant advancement in ticketing and admission control.

Galaxy 8 simplifies operations for both new and experienced users with an updated, intuitive interface and powerful new features that offer improved ticketing, sales, and visitor engagement.

“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from decades of industry experience and customer feedback to create a more intuitive, powerful, and future-ready platform. With Galaxy 8, our customers will benefit from a seamless, cloud-ready solution that improves daily operations and positions them for long-term success in an evolving digital landscape.”

User friendly & feature rich

Now available, Galaxy 8 features a stylish interface inspired by Windows 11 and designed using Microsoft’s Fluent Design 2.0. This makes the platform easier to train, use, and navigate. Furthermore, it brings state-of-the-art capabilities that elevate efficiency, security, and income generation.

Notable enhancements in Galaxy 8 span guest experience, sales and pricing, operations, API and integration, and payment and fiscal compliance.

Advancements in guest experience include a joint member portal, which enables primary members to manage joint members’ access, and upsell pass renewal. With this, venues can enhance income through upsell options during online pass renewals.

Updated waivers mean that operators can define and manage product-specific waivers, and tickets are only validated once the necessary waivers are signed. In addition, Zebra wristband compatibility powers contactless access and transactions for a seamless visitor experience.

Sales and pricing features include attribute-based pricing, in which ticket prices are dynamically adjusted based on factors such as visitor behaviour and length of visit. With sale script enhancements, operators are equipped with pricing conversations for precise event-driven pricing. Ticket yield management uses third-party capacity and revenue management tools to optimise pricing.

Operations are made faster and more efficient with enhancements such as batch print efficiency for a faster and better organised workflow, automated database purge enhancements to enhance system performance, and parking loop efficiency, which uses Amano parking integration to manage two parking lanes from a single POS. Additionally, real-time ACS fraud block and reentry controls prevent ticket fraud and misuse.

The platform’s impactful API and integration upgrades feature an expanded ACS API, which allows for bespoke scanning systems for smooth admission control. Developers can issue orders using API while maintaining business rules using API order fulfilment, and the order cancellations and payment plans API expansion enables self-service refunds, payment updates, and flexible memberships.

Galaxy 8 also offers enhanced payment and fiscal compliance. Shift4 payment processing provides a unified system to accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and on-site and online payment plans, while Smart BOT for APAC powers Apple Pay, NFC AliPay, and others for international transactions. The Topaz signature integration minimises administrative tasks with paperless payment plan contracts.

Future-proof solution

With Galaxy 8, Gateway Ticketing Systems offers the most sophisticated version of Galaxy to date. The platform provides a future-proof solution for attractions with high-volume ticketing, such as theme parks, museums, zoos and entertainment venues, with an event-driven architecture which increases uptime, scalability, and real-time responsiveness.

Over 150 experts, including software developers, technical experts, IT specialists, project managers, and customer service representatives, work for Gateway Ticketing Systems across the US, UK, and Canada.

Last month, Gateway Ticketing Systems announced that Chester Zoo is adopting its Galaxy Guest Management and Ticketing System. This deployment will deliver an efficient and hassle-free ticketing solution for visitors to the UK’s most visited zoo.
