Painting with Light (PWL), a lighting and multimedia expert, has shared details of its contribution to Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, which opened in London on 28 March.
The company supplied and installed the exhibition’s black box framework, which guarantees optimal conditions for high-resolution projections and spatial audio.
The Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition project signifies a major milestone for PWL, illustrating its expertise in large-scale immersive experiences and reinforcing its position in the cultural and museum space.
Projection mapping & 3D audio
PWL combines creativity with innovative technology to craft multi-sensory experiences. In addition to transforming ideas into executable lighting and multimedia designs, the company also provides project management, programming for complex show control systems, and comprehensive service and maintenance.
In this project, the team created the illusion of entering the young Pharaoh’s world. By programming video mapping across huge projection surfaces, they perfectly aligned the digital content with the physical space.
Additionally, PWL designed a sophisticated 3D audio system, which completely immerses visitors in the sights and sounds of ancient Egypt using dynamic soundscapes. Each part of the integration was developed to optimise visitor flow and engagement for an outstanding experience.
“As immersive experiences continue to redefine visitor engagement, our work on Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition highlights our ability to merge technology with storytelling to create unforgettable journeys,” says a spokesperson from Painting with Light.
“This collaboration with FKP Scorpio Entertainment Ltd and Madrid Artes Digitales also expands our international reach, positioning us as a key partner for future digital experiences.”
With a reputation for creating world-class immersive experiences for the evolving museums and cultural sector, PWL continues to set new standards in digital storytelling solutions.
Last year, PWL marked its 25th anniversary. The celebration reflected a quarter-century of innovation and collaboration in the media, live entertainment, musical, and leisure sectors.
