MI Concept + Design, a multidisciplinary consulting company that creates imaginative and detailed themed spaces, has offered a unique approach that sets it apart in the market. The firm was founded in Toronto in 2015 by industry veteran Garfield Ingram. MI Concept + Design’s vision to put “creative first” recognises Ingram’s strengths and expertise. Before founding MI Concept + Design, Ingram had spent many years in the sector working on large-scale projects such as Universal Studios Dubai, Vidanta World’s Cirque Du Soleil Theme Park, and Chimelong’s Forest Kingdom. Building on his firsthand industry experience, he recognised the need to provide an additional source of creativity to his peers.
End-to-end design approach
He was soon joined by Walt Kuniec, whose expertise and knowledge helped the company grow rapidly. Kuniec brought technical experience from previous projects such as Universal Resort Sentosa, Universal Dubai, Legoland Germany, Muskoka Wharf Canada, Toronto PanAm Games Athletes’ Village, and many others.
The firm has since evolved into a diverse team of designers, architects, planners, engineers, and artists. Each member brings a unique set of skills and experiences, and this diverse knowledge is combined to offer a turnkey creative design solution. The rapidly expanding practice now offers a wide range of master planning, creative visioning, attraction design, unique interiors and façades and content creation to encompass the entire design process.
Its turnkey design approach equips the firm for any challenge. At the same time, its growing expertise enables MI Concept + Design to harness the capabilities of 3D software such as Revit, Unreal Engine, and Blender and offer its clients a way of experiencing their destination before it is built. This breakthrough for the industry allows clients to fine-tune their projects with expert help.

MI Concept + Design recently exhibited at SEA Expo 2024, which took place from 7 – 9 May at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This November, the team will also attend IAAPA Expo 2024 in Orlando, Florida.
