As the trend for spooky attractions grows, a new gothic horror experience based on author Mary Shelley‘s Frankenstein has launched in Bath, UK.
The Frankenstein Experience includes a one-hour “theatrical” walking tour, with guests exploring the streets and sites in Bath where Shelley lived and wrote.
The tour also includes a themed cocktail and entry to Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein – the world’s first attraction dedicated to the author and her creation.
The House of Frankenstein is home to four atmospheric floors of abnormal artefacts, multi-sensory environments, assorted body parts, and an escape room experience called Victor’s Lair.
The new tour is a collaboration between Bristol-based theatre company Show of Strength and House of Frankenstein.
Vicki Smith from the House of Frankenstein said the partnership with Show of Strength had allowed the team “to craft an experience that’s theatrical, educational and thrilling”.
“Visitors will be captivated by the blend of history, literature and immersive storytelling. It’s an extraordinary way to appreciate the complexities of Mary Shelley’s work and the enduring legacy of Frankenstein,” she added.

Sheila Hannon from Show of Strength said: “Bath’s history is intertwined with the creation of Frankenstein and our tour brings this story to life like never before.
“Walking in Mary Shelley’s footsteps, visitors will uncover the hidden corners of her world and the secrets she wove into her legendary tale. It’s an experience that’s both enlightening and haunting.”
The Frankenstein Experience is available at 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 31 July to 17 August.
