Jimmy Fallon and NBCUniversal have announced a new immersive experience will be heading to Rockefeller Center in New York City this Halloween. The haunted maze, with 10 different rooms to explore, will bring to life the deepest nightmares of the Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Tonight Show host.
Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares promises to raise the bar for haunted attractions in Manhattan by inviting visitors into a realistic haunt with frightful sets and jumps around every corner. From the mind of Jimmy Fallon’s brain, the concept was created in association with the creative team behind Universal Destinations & Experiences’ Halloween Horror Nights, the world’s most popular Halloween event, and NBCUniversal’s Global Franchise Management group.
Killer scarecrows, zombies and more
“Tonightmares has got everything you need to get supremely frightened this Halloween,” says Fallon. “I’m not saying it has killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. But… it has… killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. Spoiler alert.”
“Each year, we bring Halloween to life in new and exciting ways across NBCUniversal through Halloween-themed content and experiences,” adds David O’Connor, president of franchise management & brand strategy. “Whether it’s expressed in our Theme Parks or through Film and Television, we’re building on our rich horror legacy, and we’re thrilled to support Jimmy Fallon to pair his true fandom of the holiday with the expertise of our company to create this one-of-a-kind experience.”
Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares is produced by NBCUniversal in partnership with RWS Global and powered by Fever. It opens to the public on Friday 20 September 2024 and will run on select nights until 31 October.
In other news, award-winning artist The Weeknd is returning to Universal Studios Hollywood‘s Halloween Horror Nights with a new nightmare. Other highlights of this year’s season include haunted houses themed around A Quiet Place, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Insidious: The Further, Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface, and more.
Meanwhile, the cult classic Halloween movie Trick ‘r Treat is coming to Six Flags’ Fright Fest event this year. Fright Fest will also feature IP from Stranger Things, Saw, Army of the Dead, The Conjuring, Annabelle and The Nun.
