Blackpool Pleasure Beach has expanded and enhanced its ‘Journey to Hell: Freak Nights’ event for Halloween, with two new attractions opening this year.
The Lancashire theme park has added two new live-action scare zones to its ‘Journey to Hell’ scare nights. These are the Alice in Wonderland-themed ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ and ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’.
Down the Rabbit Hole will see the park’s Alice in Wonderland ride transformed into a nightmarish world where Alice and her friends have gone insane. Guests can expect grotesque figures lurking around every corner, Pleasure Beach said.
Cabinet of Curiosities is set in the lair of a macabre collector, a maze of horrors home to gruesome creatures.

Additionally, nine rides are now included in the event for unlimited riding. Last year, only three rides were included in Journey to Hell, and guests could only ride once.
Pleasure Beach is also transforming the north of the park into haunted areas with roaming scare actors, live entertainment, and themed cocktails and food.
CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, Amanda Thompson OBE, said: “This year, Journey to Hell is bigger and more frightening than ever with two brand new scare zones.
“After the success of our zone inside the Ghost Train last year, we’ve turned another fan-favourite ride into a terrifying live action area and it promises to be one of our creepiest yet.”
Thompson added: “We know our rides help us stand out from other scare events, so we’ve tripled the rides available and added ride theming for a more immersive experience.
More rides included in ‘Journey to Hell’
“Even the rides that aren’t classed as one of our scare zones will have roaming actors and entertainment to create a truly terrifying night.
“Add that to our own eerie history here at Pleasure Beach Resort and it’s a Halloween event not to be missed.”
In addition to the new scare zones, Pleasure Beach will offer ‘Ghost Train: Vault of Shadows’ and ‘Twisted Tunnels’. The former is a transformation of the park’s Ghost Train ride, and the latter is set in a 100-year-old network of tunnels beneath the park.
Journey to Hell: Freak Nights takes place on select dates from 11 October to 31 October.
