Disney’s villains are coming to Walt Disney World next summer, ahead of the new villains-themed land set to open at Magic Kingdom.
Located in Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the new live production will feature appearances by villains including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent.
The creative team at Disney Live Entertainment will transform the park’s Sunset Showcase building into “the mysterious, reflective realm of the magic mirror”, Disney said in a blog post.

To make way for the villains show, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, a Cars-themed production, on 7 October
As for Magic Kingdom’s upcoming villains land, this was announced last month at D23, Disney’s fan event.
Construction on the land is set to start soon, with Walt Disney Imagineering now planning it. Part of a major Magic Kingdom expansion, the land will contain two new attractions, as well as retail and dining experiences.
Villains land coming to Magic Kingdom
“Since the beginning, our Disney villains have given us endless possibilities to tell new stories,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney’s theme parks and experiences division, during D23.
“In this new land, you’ll see storytelling on a grand scale that only Disney can deliver.”
At D23, D’Amaro also said: “At Disney Experiences, Imagineers dream, create, design and build these stories into real places.
“And we have Imagineers in place right now all around the world because everything we’re going to share with you is in active development. Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving. I just want to be clear about this: we are doing everything you’re going to hear tonight.”
