Sunkid, a leading provider of attractions for the whole family, delivered four customised systems to Vietnam’s newest water park from its development and production site in Bad Goisern, Austria. The conveyors were installed by the customer and put into operation by Sunkid.

The first phase of Sam Son Water Park opened to the public in June 2024, bringing a range of unique slides to North Vietnam, including some of the highest in Asia. The site, operated by Sun Group, is about 15 kilometres from Than Hoa and 1.5 kilometres from Sam Son Beach and covers an area of 33.5 hectares. It promises thrills for the entire family.”

World-class water park experiences

With over 30 high-performance water ride experiences spread across eight complexes, Sam Son Water Park boasts several remarkable features developed and provided by ProSlide, a leading manufacturer of water attractions. “We are thrilled to collaborate with visionaries like Sun Group to strategically develop world-class water park experiences in Vietnam,” says Steve Avery, vice president of business development for the APAC region at ProSlide.

ProSlide and Sun Group rely on systems from Sunkid when transporting their tyres and rafts.

They are all made precisely to move the sliding tyres, with drive outputs ranging from 5.5 to 7.5 kW. Two systems with total lengths of 40 and 50 meters are part of Sunkid’s cutting-edge vertical conveyor generation, which ensures safe and comfortable transportation in confined spaces.

The other two tyre transport belts use the tried-and-tested ‘Blue Eye’ conveyor belt to move the tyres diagonally over total lengths of 63 and 84 meters. This belt’s design and rubber mixture will drain leftover water from the belt surface while reliably preventing the wet tubes from sliding back.

Sunkid’s CEO Emanuel Wohlfarter says: “This latest Vietnam project, and most of all the trust put in us by the “big players” ProSlide and Sun Group, exemplifies the renown we have worked hard for many years to develop in the water-park industry.

“Our completed product range of water conveyor belts now enables us to supply all projects, including those subject to special requirements. Our product quality (made in Austria, Europe) as well as the quality of our global service are decisive purchasing criteria for our customers.”

Earlier this year, Sunkid helped white-water athletes and emerging talents prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The firm equipped the training facility in Cesson-Sévigné, France, with a new water conveyor belt. This technology was also used in 2021 for the wild water stadium at the Olympics in Tokyo.
