Halloween may be over for another year, but Universal Destinations & Experiences has unveiled the haunted houses for its year-round horror attraction in Las Vegas.
Universal Horror Unleashed is the company’s first-ever permanent horror experience. Inspired by Halloween Horror Nights at Universal parks, it opens in “a darkened warehouse on the edge of Las Vegas” next year, via a press release.
Described as “a relentless spectacle of horror”, Universal Horror Unleashed will include haunted houses themed to Universal’s classic monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer.
“These haunted houses aren’t for the faint of heart – they are intense and feature elevated moments where the horror surrounds guests in unimaginable ways,” the press release says.
Surrounding the haunted houses are four “sinisterly themed and immersive areas” with live entertainment experiences and eerie eateries. The venue will also provide seasonal events and exclusive merchandise.
Universal Horror Unleashed is part of the company’s ambition to introduce new products to new audiences in new markets. It is the anchor tenant in the 20-acre expansion of Area15.

In a recent interview with blooloop, Universal Orlando’s Lora Sauls said: “Our team has been heavily involved since the very beginning of that project. That is in really good hands with the creative team from Orlando.
“That’s pretty much all I can say. It’s going to be an amazing experience, we love that Halloween Horror Nights is now its own IP and has grown beyond even just the parks.”
Earlier this week, Universal shared a first look at the state-of-the-art animatronics of Universal’s classic monsters at Epic Universe.
