Radio Tave, Meow Wolf’s latest immersive art experience, has opened to the public in Houston’s historic Fifth Ward.

Visitors to Radio Tave are immersed in a surreal world where a radio station has been transported to another dimension. Guests can explore an expansive maze of interconnected rooms, uncovering hidden stories as they go.

Along the way, they can see a cavernous grotto with living instruments, a surreal dive bar in the afterlife called Cowboix Hevvven, the ETNL radio station, and the labyrinthine Obsidiodyssey installation.

“We’re beyond excited for everyone to experience Radio Tave,” said Jose Tolosa, CEO of Meow Wolf. “The artistic talent of this city is unparalleled, and we’ve worked hand in hand with Houston’s best to create something that will leave people transformed.”

The exhibition was created by more than 100 artists, half from Texas. It merges Houston’s creative energy with Meow Wolf’s groundbreaking storytelling to provide a unique audiovisual experience.

Per a press release, Radio Tave is Meow Wolf’s most sound-driven location to date. The art group collaborated with Houston music icon Fat Tony, as well as local musicians, whose songs are featured in the jukebox and other areas.

Gil Perez, general manager for Meow Wolf Houston, describes the experience as “an invitation to explore the limitless boundaries of your imagination”.

Meow Wolf’s US expansion

“From the moment you walk through the doors, you’ll experience something that’s both otherworldly and Houstonian – vast, intricate, and full of surprises,” he said.

Meow Wolf now has five permanent exhibitions. These are located in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Denver, Grapevine and Houston. Next, Meow Wolf is heading to Los Angeles.

Vinny Nicoletti, Meow Wolf’s new chief marketing and revenue officer, teased the LA location in a recent interview with blooloop.

He said: “What I can tell you is that we are celebrating what makes Los Angeles most known, and that is cinema. There will be a very distinctive and unique look at the multiverse through the lens of cinema.”
