Wevr, a creative technology company focused on creating virtual worlds and immersive spatial experiences, is marking ten years of innovation in extended reality (XR) with the release of a retrospective showcasing its groundbreaking projects from the last decade.

The firm has also announced a new slate of shared immersive experiences to be released in early 2025. The upcoming experiences will integrate advanced AI, LED volumes, and XR technology to immerse audiences in breathtaking narratives like never before.

Showcase highlights a decade of creative innovation

The new site shares how, over the past decade, Wevr has emerged as an innovative leader in the extended reality (XR) landscape, continually pushing the limits of digital interactive design. Since its inception, the company has built a legacy of innovation, starting with the underwater realm of TheBlu. This project transformed from a web app into an immersive virtual reality experience, enabling users to encounter majestic blue whales and explore colourful coral reefs.

Wevr has also partnered with entertainment giants, creating two immersive Harry Potter experiences and Gnomes & Goblins, directed by Jon Favreau. Other partnerships with innovators across film, games, music, and technology include Reggie Watts, Phil Tippett, John Gaeta, and Paul Allen. Wevr’s commitment to interactive design and XR has earned it multiple accolades, including SXSW and Proto awards, solidifying its status as an industry leader.

“Watching Wevr develop their skills and expertise over the past ten years, it was clear to me, as well as many others who study the space, that what they are doing is truly special and rare,” said Ted Schilowitz, entertainment industry Futurist. “They have continually redefined what’s possible in XR, proving and testing the boundaries of what’s possible. Their work serves as a beacon for the future of shared experiences in entertainment.”
