Dreamworld theme park in Queensland, Australia has opened its new Rivertown land and Jungle Rush roller coaster.

The jungle-themed land offers lush landscapes and wild experiences, including the Jungle Rush coaster, which features the world’s first inclined triple-switch coaster turntable.

It also houses the new Murrissippi Motors family ride and Jane’s Rivertown Restaurant. The former takes riders on an expedition filled with ancient relics and hidden treasures.

Coast Entertainment Holdings CEO Greg Yong said the new Rivertown is a “huge milestone” for Dreamworld and the Gold Coast of Australia, via the Gold Coast Bulletin.

“As the crowning jewel in our multimillion-dollar investment, it reaffirms our commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for families,” Yong said.

“Jungle Rush and Murrissippi Motors bring adventure and nostalgia to life, and we’re thrilled to finally share it with our guests.”

Coast Entertainment Holdings board member and former Disney parks executive Randy Garfield previously said: “What Dreamworld has achieved with Rivertown is extraordinary.

“With the quality of the theming, the attention to detail, the physical site and the ride itself, it’s different from anything Disney has but just as good. And I mean that. Nothing in this country comes close to what you’re about to see.”

New themed lands at Gold Coast parks

Rivertown opened at Dreamworld just after the world’s first Wizard of Oz-themed land debuted at Warner Bros. Move World in Queensland.

The multimillion-dollar land features two new family-friendly coasters, named Kansas Twister and Flight of the Wicked Witch.

Clark Kirby, chief executive of Village Roadshow, which operates Warner Bros. Movie World, told the Gold Coast Bulletin: “The Wizard of Oz precinct is like nothing we have ever done at Movie World where incredible theming and technology complements the physical ride elements to provide a unique and immersive guest experience.”

Coast Entertainment Holdings was formerly called Ardent Leisure.
