Gel Blaster, a company focused on rekindling the joy of physical play, is creating a buzz in the location-based entertainment sector with its groundbreaking new product, Nexus. This innovative and highly interactive gaming system bridges the gap between physical and digital gameplay. It fuses the excitement of conventional blaster games such as paintball and airsoft with the advanced technology of video games, resulting in what Gel Blaster calls a “real-world video game.”

Following Nexus’s official launch last year, the company announced that 12 Nexus centres are already installed and operational, with 117 deposited locations slated for installation in 2025. The team is currently installing up to four new centres per week to meet rising demand. By summer 2025, it anticipates completing installations for the current backlog and opening new availability to new customers by Q3.

Across all currently installed locations, 80,971 players have experienced Nexus to date. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with guests enjoying the immersive glow-in-the-dark experience.

Moreover, the new Nexus Digital App has successfully launched, enabling players to track scores and leaderboard rankings effortlessly. This feature has contributed to an increase in return visits and enhanced customer engagement across all locations.

New updates

“As we step into 2025, the Gel Blaster Nexus team extends our deepest gratitude to all our partners for an incredible year—thank you for being an essential part of our journey! Together, we’ve created unforgettable gaming experiences, bringing families and communities closer through thrilling, active entertainment,” says the firm.

“We are committed to supporting family entertainment centers with operational tips, staff training, and marketing guidance to ensure the success of every Nexus attraction installed.”

Concerning the latest updates, the Gel Blaster Nexus Mobile App elevates gameplay to a new level, providing players with an engaging experience to fully immerse themselves in the action and remain connected to the game. By creating a personalised profile, players enhance their experience and are encouraged to return to their favourite FEC for more thrilling battles. With the app, players can access real-time match statistics, career records, and game history and locate the nearest Nexus Arena.

The latest Nexus update enhances player profiles with detailed match histories. Each entry includes Game Highlights, such as time, arena, game mode, and scores, alongside Performance Metrics like shots fired, blaster mode switches, power-ups, and more. These features allow players to track their journey to mastery, fuelling competition and sparking debates about strategies and playstyles.

Looking ahead, Gel Blaster adds: “We are on track to reach an estimated 75 Nexus installations nationwide by the end of the year, with further plans for expansion into Europe and other international markets in 2025.

“We’re excited to continue growing with you and delivering even more moments of joy and inspiration. Here’s to a year ahead filled with innovation, success, and countless epic battles in the Nexus arena.”
