Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe theme park will feature flying dragons in the sky above the How to Train Your Dragon-themed land.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk at Epic Universe is an immersive village featuring the Viking and dragon statues seen in the films, a lagoon filled with ships, rocky cliffs and towering mountains, Universal Orlando said in a new blog post.
“The dragons that rule the skies are a sight to behold as well, and you can watch in awe as they soar above while you make your way around the theme park to each of the thrilling attractions in Isle of Berk,” the park said.

“In Berk, you’re constantly surrounded by the endless number of dragons that take flight in the skies,” Universal added.
“A Monstrous Nightmare or a Gronckle might be soaring above, so be on the lookout.”
How Epic Universe will put dragons in the sky remains to be seen, but it’s possible that drones will be used to depict the creatures.
As well as flying dragons, Isle of Berk at Epic Universe will offer four attractions, a live show, and several character meet-and-greet experiences.
Epic Universe to open in May
Rides include a family-friendly thrill coaster called Hiccup’s Wing Gliders and the Fyre Drill boat ride.
The live stage show, called The Untrainable Dragon, will also include flying dragons.
“Watch your head; a dragon just might take flight and soar above the heads of onlookers bold enough to stick around for the show,” said Universal Orlando.

Universal Epic Universe, the fourth gate at Universal Orlando in Florida, opens on 22 May. It is described as Universal’s most ambitious destination to date.
Situated on 750 acres, Epic Universe includes a theme park with five themed lands, as well as three hotels, shops and F&B.
