Highlite International, a leading supplier of show, audio, and light equipment, is celebrating the reopening of Bowlo Bowling & Lounge in Kerkrade, the Netherlands. The venue underwent a refurbishment after suffering from fire damage. The newly transformed venue now offers a modern and stylish leisure environment that shows the benefits of using lighting and sound products from the entertainment industry to improve the guest experience.
Lighting, sound, and effect products from the entertainment industry are perfect for generating unexpected effects, building immersive experiences, and balancing complementing visual and aural aspects. These goods can create distinct moods and ambiences, which are important in various settings, including water parks, zoos, museums, and theme parks.
Highlite has thirty years of expertise as a manufacturer and distributor of products mainly for the entertainment industry. In addition, many of the solutions in its portfolio apply to markets outside of entertainment. Its IP65-rated lighting systems, for instance, are dust—and waterproof-rated, suited for challenging indoor and outdoor settings, and guarantee longevity and dependability in several applications.
The renovation of Bowlo Bowling & Lounge demonstrates these benefits.
Audio and lighting enhance the atmosphere
In the bowling area, 14 Showtec (a Highlite brand) LED Light Bar 12 Pixels were mounted in the ceiling to create an immersive atmosphere. The rainbow-coloured red, green, blue, and white LEDs light up the bowling lanes and can also produce distinctive effects based on what is happening in the game. They can also be modified to suit events taking place in the venue.
A Chimp Dongle for OnPC, three Showtec TR-512 Pocket DMX Triggers/Recorders, and an Infinity (also a Highlite brand) Chimp 100.G2 Tourpack DMX console are used to control these lights. The DMX network of the venue is controlled by the Chimp 100.G2 Tourpack and Chimp Dongle for OnPC, which also serve as an interface for external triggers like motion detectors (ball rolling down the lane) and pin strikes. These goods are all designed to create surprising effects and enhance the atmosphere by fusing music and light.
Accessories like DMX and power cables from Highlite’s audio brand DAP, Showtec DMX Mergers, Showtec Booster Pros and Showgear Powersplitters allow seamless operation and connectivity.
Thirteen DAP Xi-10 loudspeakers, four DAP Xi-6 loudspeakers, two CA-4500 DSP amplifiers, and a DAP Compact 9.2 9-channel 1U dual zone installation mixer supply the audio experience throughout Bowlo Bowling & Lounge. The sound system in this arrangement is immersive and clear, setting the perfect mood in various parts of the space. The audio system is completed with DAP hanging brackets for the Xi-6 and Xi-10 and DAP speaker and microphone connections, guaranteeing dependable sound quality.
To further improve visitors’ entertainment experience, thirty PLB-3260A TV wall mounts from Highlite’s accessory brand, Showgear, were placed throughout the space.
Adaptable and efficient solutions
The transformation of Bowlo Bowling & Lounge serves as an example of how Highlite’s audio and effect lighting products for the entertainment sector can improve a venue by producing attractive surroundings and effects.
The products in Highlite’s range offer adaptable and efficient solutions for a broad range of applications, enhancing the visitor experience in numerous industries.
All of these products also have applications outside of the entertainment sector. They range from effect lighting to specialised architectural luminaires and all the required control equipment; from fixed audio installations to mobile setups, including media players, processors, and amplifiers; from cables to replacement bulbs and other consumables; and from stylish curtains to frame structures for SEG solutions.
Last year, Highlite supplied the lighting for Now You’re Mine, a haunted experience at Toverland in the Netherlands. The collaboration drew on the firm’s lighting and special effects expertise to develop an eerie ambience, enhancing the attraction’s storytelling.
