Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast are taking the first-ever official Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) theatrical experience on tour across the US.

The interactive production is called Dungeons & Dragons: The Twenty-Sided Tavern and opened earlier this year in New York.

The show’s run has been extended in New York through April 2025, with a national tour to begin the following month. The full list of cities on the tour will be announced at a later date.

During The Twenty-Sided Tavern, players can take an active role and influence key decisions through Gamiotics, a browser-based software that lets users vote on where the story will go, what characters will appear, and which experiences to explore.

The new experience features a cast of five actors but more than 30 playable characters. Audience members enjoy a fantasy world of riddles, puzzles and combat set in the Forgotten Realms.

Guests can also join the cast onstage for games including trivia, charades and ‘Fantasy Beer Pong’. No two shows are the same.

“What started as a D&D-style RPG onstage with folding tables and a box of props has grown beyond our wildest imagination,” said Curious Hedgehog’s David Carpenter earlier this year.

Per a press release, D&D is the world’s most popular tabletop roleplaying game (RPG). The brand is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Next-level experiential entertainment

The Twenty-Sided Tavern is a partnership between Hasbro, its Wizards of the Coast division, experiential entertainment company Curious Hedgehog, and Showpath Entertainment – the stage production division of the Path Entertainment Group.

“When David Hutchinson at Showpath and the Hasbro team approached us about this collaboration, it was a perfect match,” Carpenter added.

“Together we are taking experiential entertainment to the next level.”

Hasbro’s location-based entertainment (LBE) offering is rapidly expanding. The company is behind Peppa Pig theme parks in Florida and Germany, Monopoly Lifesized attractions, Nerf experiences, and much more.
