Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), a world-leading roller coaster manufacturer, has shared how its services can help attractions extend the life of their coasters and increase ROI.
The firm offers a one-stop shop for services which supplement in-house and local availability. This user-friendly approach aims to help parks of any size operate efficiently.
Services include accelerometer testing, feasibility studies, track surveys, structural analysis and inspection, ride inspection, bolt tightening, installation, ride removal, expedited onsite labour, and ride consultation or troubleshooting.
Previous service projects have ranged from the installation of the wooden Intamin coaster, El Toro, at Six Flags Great Adventure to co-building rides with firms including Chance, ARM, and Majestic. The firm has offered support for water rides, provided track for other manufacturers including S&S and Skyline, and has supplied structure for firms such as Chance.
Comprehensive range of services
RMC’s maintenance and overhaul services keep trains performing at a high level. This includes non-destructive testing (NDT), assembly, inspection and refurbishment.
Larger tasks, such as an annual inspection, can be time-consuming and complicated, and parks may not have expert maintenance staff with capacity. RMC offers a straightforward service where operators simply ship their trains to the firm for inspection. This not only reduces staffing requirements but also ensures compliance with OEM standards.
The Ride Rehab service includes painting, maintenance, repair, mechanical upgrades, and lighting packages. A park’s upkeep enhances the guest experience, and lighting and paint can give a ride a new look and feel, updating the offering without investing in a whole new ride.
In addition, the firm provides R&D services and proof of concept manufacturing, including sample tracks and accelerometer testing. R&D for non-amusement manufacturing, such as portable car dealer auto displays, mining safety chambers, and wind turbine blade transportation components, is also available.
Replacement parts
Rocky Mountain Construction offers an extensive range of parts for rides and coasters. More than 2,000 different normal wear parts are on the shelf and available immediately at the parts department at RMC and Larson International. The team can help operators to identify what parts are needed, answer questions and process orders.
For new ride enquiries, please email Hunter Novotny, international ride consultant, Larson International, Dave Schloegel, sales and ride consultant, or Steve Paquin, international ride consultant.
Earlier this year, RMC announced the launch of its 208 ReTraK system, a patented technology that replaces wood stack and can be installed in segments, integrating seamlessly into the existing ride. This innovation removes the need for continuous track maintenance, repair, and replacement, which is common with traditional hardwood coasters.
