Disney Cruise Line has unveiled a new dining experience inspired by The Lion King for its new heroes and villains-themed ship, the Disney Destiny.
The unique F&B experience, called ‘Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King’, will be located in a venue based on the African savanna, with depictions of animals and nature brought to life through lighting and special effects.
The back wall will be lined with large windows that transform from sunrises to sunsets throughout the meal, while the centre of the restaurant will have tiered risers that look like African drums.
Heroes and villains-themed spaces
Guests will enjoy a musical journey with live performers and the 1994 film’s award-winning soundtrack as they dine. The band and performers will use authentic African instruments and theatrical props.
There will be productions of ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘Hakuna Matata’, an instrumental version of ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’, and a mash-up of ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Be King’ and ‘Be Prepared’.
In addition, Disney Cruise Line has unveiled a sweet shop on the Destiny called Edna Á La Mode Sweets, inspired by The Incredibles‘ Edna Mode and the Auntie Edna short film. This will sell handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, sweets and treats.

Also, the Disney Destiny includes Café Megara and Café Merida. The former is themed to Hercules (1997), and the latter to Brave (2012).
During their voyage on the Destiny ship, guests will meet heroes and villains from films including The Lion King, Hercules and One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
The Disney Destiny will start sailing in December 2025. It is part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
This includes the new Disney Treasure and Disney Adventure ships, a new island destination in the Bahamas, and a new ship to sail from Japan.
