Universal Orlando has unveiled its upcoming DreamWorks land in a new video ahead of the opening next month.
Launching on 14 June at Universal Studios Florida, the new space features attractions and experiences inspired by brands like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.
In Universal’s new video, Universal Creative’s Dean Orion shows off the land during a hard hat tour of the construction site.
“We have so much interactivity, there are shows, there are meet and greets, it really brings the DreamWorks characters to life,” he says in the video.
At Shrek’s swamp and cottage, Orion introduces viewers to an interactive Pinocchio model, the ‘Trolls Treats’ ice cream kiosk, Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp, and the ‘Trollercoaster’ – a Caterbus-style attraction where riders escape evil spiders.
Universal‘s new DreamWorks land houses interactive play areas, character meet and greets, a new live show, unique retail and F&B, and a family-friendly coaster.
In the Shrek-themed area, visitors can meet Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey, and enjoy an interactive experience based on Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish.
‘King Harold’s Swamp Symphony’ is another interactive attraction in the Shrek area, and guests can buy snacks at ‘Swamp Snacks’.
Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda
In the Trolls-themed area, ‘Poppy’s Playground’ is a shaded play area featuring colourful flowers, and ‘High Five Hideaway’ is a retail outlet selling DreamWorks merchandise.
As for Kung Fu Panda experiences, ‘Po Kung Fu Training Camp’ is a new play area that brings to life the Panda Village, and ‘Po Live!’ is a digital experience.
In more news from Universal Orlando, the new Epic Universe theme park is set to open in 2025 with five immersive worlds.
