SeaWorld Orlando is opening an Arctic-themed flying theatre experience, featuring footage of remote parts of the polar region, in spring 2025.
The immersive indoor attraction takes riders on an adventure through the Arctic, over icy terrains and beneath frozen waters. Guests will meet beluga whales, orcas and walruses, and see the northern lights.
“We are thrilled to introduce this first-of-its-kind attraction to SeaWorld Orlando,” said Jon Peterson, park president.
“This indoor immersive flying theater experience reinforces our commitment to education, animal care and research.”
He added: “As guests disembark from the attraction, they’ll find themselves in the awe-inspiring wonder of one of the world’s most remote places, face-to-face with some of those very animals found within the Arctic such as beluga whales, walruses and more.
“By bringing the wonders of the Arctic to life, we are offering guests an unparalleled and immersive experience that will create lasting memories for people of all ages.”
The flying theatre includes two multi-level theatres, each accommodating 30 guests. Custom filming equipment was created for this project, with an award-winning production team able to film in some of the most remote parts of the Arctic.
New immersive attraction
“From lush, green landscapes that challenge the typical perceptions of the Arctic to the snow-capped vistas and crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life, guests will be transported to locations that are otherwise inaccessible to most,” SeaWorld said in a statement.
SeaWorld Orlando recently opened its new Penguin Trek family launch coaster. Located in the new Antarctica realm, Penguin Trek boasts an indoor and outdoor track, and snowmobile-style ride cars.
